Translation Services

Access to leaflets

The most important leaflets can be downloaded from this website, or sent to you by the Inspector. These are :

"Did you get what you wanted?" - (How to ask for an independent review) For security reasons, it cannot be amended on screen. Please print a hard copy and complete your personal details by hand.

"Have your say read on" - This leaflet is sent by Inspectors when they need to set out in writing the key issues affecting your case, and how they will make their decision.

"Here's your decision" This leaflet is sent out with the Inspectors decision. It sets out the complaints procedure, and signposts other organizations that may be able to give advice and support

Once your case is with us

If English is not your first language, and you have difficulty in understanding the information about your review, we can send you copies of the most important documents in your own language.

These documents are:
  • If the Inspector needs to write to you, to seek further information before completing the review, we can arrange to have this letter translated.
  • We can also arrange to have the Inspectors decision translated for you.
  • If you are unhappy with the Inspector's decision, we can also arrange for our Customer Service Team to reply to your enquiry or complaint in the same language.
The translation of letters into languages other than English will mean that your application will take longer to deal with than our published review service standards.

Which Languages?

Following research into the most commonly used languages, we provide this service in: Arabic, Bengali, Cantonese, French, Guajarati, Punjabi, Somali, Kurdish/Sorani, Urdu, Welsh, Polish, Tamil and Mandarin.

You may wish to respond to correspondence from us by phone in a language other than English. We are able to take calls in languages other than English using Language Line.
