Social Fund Commissioner's Annual Reports

Social Fund Commissioner's Annual Report
The Social Fund Commissioner has a statutory duty to report to the Secretary of State annually in writing on the standard of Inspectors' decisions. The Secretary of State must then publish the Report. This is normally done in July each year.

The Annual Report gives a breakdown of the work done in the IRS. It contains statistics relating to the intake of cases and the review output in terms of confirmed, substituted and referred back decisions.
The Commissioner reports on IRS quality assurance processes and the standards achieved by Inspectors. The IRS sets itself targets relating to our quality definition, with actual performance included in the Annual Report.

The Commissioner also takes the opportunity of the Annual Report to account for the external liaison work undertaken by the IRS.
If you would like to be put on the IRS mailing list for the Commissioner's Annual Report, please contact Justine Bird at the IRS (telephone 0121 606 2133, e-mail
